I got the chance to ride some powder at my home resort this Christmas. Here are some pictures and a small edit made with my mini action-cam.
I grew up in a municipality called Vinje in the woods of West Telemark, where we actually have a few small mountains to ride, and not just hills like most of South East Norway has. I had one 150-meter lift in my home village of Aamot and two 1000-meter lifts 25 min away in Rauland. Raulandsfjell was my favorite when we got powder – a lot of open tree riding with some decent jump lines. I like steep little mountain resorts - powder and steepness go well together. This past Christmas holiday I had four hours of pow and sun with a friend from Seattle, Mr. Russell Winfield. I gave him an action-cam for a few runs, and he put together this holiday edit. So if you’re ever in the neighborhood and the snow conditions are good, I recommend taking a shred day at Raulandsfjell.
